Charlie was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 4th Round of the 1983 Draft. He debuted with the Giants against the Houston Astros on September 11, 1988. During his 14-year Major League career, Hayes also played for six additional teams, including the New York Yankees, with whom he won a World Series Championship in 1996. Hayes currently runs a hitting facility in Tomball, Texas. His son, Ke'Bryan Hayes, is currently rising up through the Pirates Minor League system after being chosen as a 1st Round pick in the 2015 Draft.
